TL;DR A part of Xaxis, Copilot is and an AI-powered ad tech company in need of refined brand messaging and visual language that reflects on their website. We use the ubiquity of AI through using a 3D blob as a visual metaphor of how malleable advertising strategies can be with the help of advanced AI solutions provided by Copilot.
BRIEF To celebrate the arrival of the latest Ozworld collection, adidas Originals asked us to reconnect them with Gen-z by positioning them as a digital innovator. We created the world’s first personality based, AI generated avatar creation platform that creates a unique, free, and interoperable avatar users can take across the web via ReadyPlayerMe.
As the sole UI Motion Designer, I created designs with the supervision of CD and kept in close communication with both the front-end dev and the QA team to ensure the design and motion are 1:1 to the live website. In the beginning, I helped out in designing some pages, since in this project the motion elements like the 3D blob informed a lot of the design elements.
One of the challenges we encountered was the hero element of the main page. The creatives wanted to introduce the 3D blobs when a user first enter the website, but due to the time constraint, it wasn’t feasible for the devs to have it fully implemented in WebGL.
Our solution was to instead rely on motion by creating a hero video that blends well with the 3D blob WebGL.
